About the author
Adam Linmore is the pen name of a special educator who has spent years working with young children who did not talk easily.
Virtual Autism began late one night with a question typed into a search box, and grew into the book the author had wanted to find that night: a clear account of what the research shows about screens and the youngest children, where it falls short, and what families can do at home.
Why a pen name
The book includes a family’s story. Writing under a pen name protects the people in it, and every detail that could identify them has been changed or left out. The research, the sources and the advice do not depend on who the author is: every study the book relies on is listed in its notes and references, so readers can check them for themselves.
How the book was checked
Every source was checked against library and publisher records. Where a study has limits, the book states them alongside its findings, and where the evidence points in more than one direction, both directions are given room.
The full plan, the evidence and the letters you can copy are in the book.
